Clear Aligner Treatment
What Are Clear Aligners and How Do They Work?
Clear aligners are a virtually invisible way to straighten teeth without the brackets, wires, or food restrictions that come with traditional metal braces. Using a series of custom-made, removable plastic trays, clear aligners gradually shift teeth into correct position, each new tray moving teeth a precise amount further along the treatment plan.
At A-Dental Center, Dr. Fadi Elzayat, DDS, FICOI offers clear aligner treatment for adults and teens, including Invisalign®, ClearCorrect, and other aligner options tailored to your needs and budget.
Treatment begins with a digital scan using the iTero Scanner, no putty, no molds. The scan maps out the exact sequence of tooth movements. You wear each tray for 1 to 2 weeks, check in every 6 to 8 weeks, and most cases finish in 6 to 18 months.
Conditions clear aligners can treat
- Crowded teeth — mild to moderate crowding treated reliably
- Gapped teeth — predictable closure in most cases
- Overbite — upper teeth overlap lower teeth too far
- Underbite — lower teeth protrude past upper
- Crossbite — upper and lower teeth misaligned side to side
- Open bite — front teeth don't contact when back teeth close
- Post-braces relapse — retreatment without starting over

Wear 20 to 22 Hours Daily
Aligners should be worn 20 to 22 hours per day for optimal results. Remove only for eating, drinking anything other than water, and brushing. Fewer hours slows treatment and causes trays to stop fitting correctly.
Care & Cleaning
Clean trays daily with a soft toothbrush and cool water only, hot water warps the plastic. Brush teeth before reinserting. Store unused trays in the provided case. Never eat with aligners in.
What to Expect
Mild pressure for 1 to 3 days after switching to a new tray is normal, teeth are moving. Speech may feel slightly altered for the first day or two, then returns to normal. Most patients adapt within the first week.
What Conditions Do Clear Aligners Treat?
- ✓Crowded Teeth — Overlapping or cramped teeth. The most common case type for clear aligners.
- ✓Gapped Teeth — Spaces from jaw size or missing teeth. Predictable closure in appropriate cases.
- ✓Overbite — Upper teeth overlap lower teeth excessively. Mild to moderate overbite treated effectively.
- ✓Underbite — Lower teeth protrude past upper. Mild cases treatable; moderate-severe may need combined approach.
- ✓Crossbite — Upper and lower teeth misaligned side-to-side. Can cause uneven wear and jaw strain.
- ✓Open Bite — Front teeth don't contact when back teeth are closed.
- ✓Midline Discrepancy — Upper and lower midlines don't align, affecting bite and facial symmetry.
- ✓Relapse After Braces — One of the most common adult aligner cases. Often a shorter course than the original treatment.
Crowded Teeth Treatment in North Hollywood
Crowded teeth are the most common reason adults seek clear aligner treatment. When teeth overlap or are too close together, cleaning is harder and wear patterns become uneven. Clear aligners predictably correct mild to moderate crowding without brackets or wires.
Gap Teeth Treatment with Clear Aligners
Gaps between teeth can result from jaw size differences, missing teeth, or natural spacing. Clear aligners close gaps reliably in most cases, with results visible within the first few months of treatment.
Overbite Correction Without Braces
An overbite occurs when upper teeth overlap lower teeth excessively. Mild to moderate overbite is correctable with Invisalign® using specialized attachments and bite ramps, no traditional braces required.
Underbite and Crossbite Treatment Options
Mild underbites and crossbites are treatable with clear aligners. More significant skeletal discrepancies may require a combined approach. Dr. Elzayat will give you an honest assessment at your free consultation on what aligners can and cannot address in your specific case.
Choosing the Right System
Invisalign® vs. ClearCorrect vs. Generic Aligners
A-Dental Center offers multiple aligner systems. Dr. Elzayat recommends the right one for your clinical situation and budget, not the most expensive one.
Most Widely Used
Invisalign®
Best for Complex CasesThe world's most recognized clear aligner brand, backed by decades of clinical research and the largest treated-case database globally. Uses proprietary SmartTrack® material and SmartForce® attachments for precise tooth movement.
- Broadest case range, mild to complex
- ClinCheck® simulation, see your result before you start
- Available for adults and teens
- Invisalign® Teen includes compliance indicators
Strong Value Option
ClearCorrect
Best for Mild to Moderate CasesA high-quality Invisalign® alternative using a slightly different tray material and treatment workflow. USA-manufactured, competitively priced, and produces excellent results for mild to moderate cases. For patients not committed to a specific brand, this is often the strong value option.
- Excellent for mild to moderate crowding, spacing, bite
- Often more affordable than Invisalign®
- USA-manufactured aligner trays
- Same clinical approach, different material
Most Affordable Entry
Generic Aligners
Best for Simple CasesNon-branded aligner systems using the same fundamental principle of sequential plastic trays to move teeth. Appropriate for straightforward cases with limited movement needed and are typically the most affordable entry point for aligner treatment.
- Best suited to simple, limited corrections
- Most affordable option
- Dr. Elzayat recommends based on your specific case
- Same removable tray principle
