Hollywood patients can get their “movie star” smile with porcelain veneers
You know the smile, pearly white, dazzling, straight, and radiating confidence, appeal, warmth, and beauty. Chances are that when you see those perfectly aligned and beamingly bright smiles, you are probably viewing the results of cosmetic dentistry, particularly porcelain veneers.
A veneer is a thin layer of material that can be attached to the surface area of an object to enhance its appearance. Many individuals think of furniture veneers. With porcelain dental veneers, which may also be called porcelain laminates, the concept is very similar. Custom designed, ultra-thin “shells” made from porcelain cover the front surfaces of a patient’s teeth, altering and enhancing their length, shape, overall size, and color.
With the same light-reflecting and temperature-reacting characteristics as enamel in the teeth, porcelain creates a natural-looking, stain-resistant cosmetic enhancement. Porcelain veneers can resolve a number of imperfections in the smile, such as:
- Excessive wear
- Chipped or broken teeth
- Discoloration from certain fruits, vegetables, wine, coffee, tea, colas, tobacco, or medications
- Crooked or misaligned teeth
- Oddly shaped or uneven teeth
- Spaces between teeth

In just a few visits to A-Dental Center, patients can achieve the smiles of their dreams. Following a thorough consultation with Drs. Elzayat or Delakyan, the process for porcelain veneers includes gentle preparation of the tooth surface and the design for the veneers. This model is sent to our professional dental lab for custom preparation. Once the veneers are received, they will be temporarily placed to ensure appropriate fit and that the color matches the patient’s needs. The veneers are then bonded to the front of the patient’s teeth. Follow up visits may be scheduled to ensure that the patient is satisfied with the comfort and appearance of the veneers.
