North Hollywood area dentist offers dentures
Dealing with tooth loss is stressful, and we understand the difficulties that come with choosing an appropriate replacement solution. Dr. Fadi Edmond Elzayat and the team of A-Dental Center work with men and women to assist them in selecting the best possible options for their smiles. There are three solutions – dentures, bridges, and dental implants. All of these options are readily available in our practice and each should be considered. Patients seeking removable, temporary, or affordable solutions which may be covered in part or in full by dental insurance should strongly consider the benefits of dentures.
Dentures come in two varieties – full dentures and partial dentures. When patients have lost one or more teeth within the dental arch but still have teeth remaining, they are good candidates for partial dentures. Partial dentures are made of an acrylic and metal framework and are custom fabricated to fit into the patient’s dental arch. Patients can snap these restorations into their smiles quickly and easily. The appliance is easy to remove for cleaning.
Patients with most of the dental arch missing may opt for extractions of the remaining teeth and the placement of a full denture. A full denture is made of acrylic and includes teeth and gums. It is placed into the mouth and may be stabilized with dental implants if patients choose to have implant-supported dentures. These dentures are often left in place and cleaned just as natural teeth are. Some patients may choose to have removable full dentures which are removed at night.
North Hollywood area patients may also seek assistance at A-Dental Center for replacement or adjustments of their dentures. Dentures should fit properly within the smile to ensure comfort and function. If dentures shift out of place, they can irritate the gum tissue and cause sores which lead to further problems for patients. Adjustments can be made right in our dental office for patients who already have dentures.
