What types of dentures are available for North Hollywood area patients?
Missing teeth affect many aspects of the smile. It can cause the existing teeth to shift out of place; reduce the patient’s ability to eat, speak, and feel confident; and it can affect overall appearance. When men and women are faced with tooth loss and want to replace them with dentures, they may want to learn about the types of dentures available at A-Dental Center with Dr. Fadi Edmond Elzayat.
Types of dentures
We offer two primary types of dentures:
- Full dentures
- Partial dentures
If a patient is missing an entire arch of teeth, they will benefit greatly from the placement of a full denture. A full denture is made of acrylic and is placed over the ridge of the gum. It can be held in place by suction, denture adhesives, or dental implants. They are made to look completely natural while allowing the patient to enjoy their favorite foods, speak clearly, and smile with confidence!
Partials are metal and acrylic frameworks with false teeth that slide into the dental arch. They use the existing teeth for support. Partials are great for replacing one tooth or several teeth along the arch. They are easy to remove and clean, and can be adjusted for optimum comfort.
Which is right for me?
Sometimes, patients are unsure as to which solution to choose. They may also consider implants and bridges. Our team can educate you on the benefits of each to make a knowledgeable decision.
